TRAINER CLINT CRAWFORD SHOWS OFF TALENT IN HIS BARN WITH FIVE TRAINING RACE WINNERS

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – March 2, 2022 – Trainer Clint Crawford sent 17 horses to post in 12 training races Wednesday at Remington Park and he is proving to be a barn to watch with 2-year-olds as he racked up five wins.

Crawford also had one horse that finished second and four horses that finished third in the schooling events for horses that have never started in an official race. The winds for the day varied between 6 and 11 mph into a headwind. Temperatures were in the 70s on a sunny day.

The fastest American Quarter Horse of the day was FG Jess Jess and this sorrel 2-year-old filly by Jess Good Candy, out of the Walk Thru Fire mare Jess Walking, won the 10^th race in a time of :13.463 over a fast track for the 250-yard distance. That was easily the fastest time of the day which produced an 85 speed index. The next highest speed index for winners on Wednesday was 79. Jorge Torres was the jockey aboard for Crawford, one of the top trainers annually during Remington Park’s Quarter Horse, Paint and Appaloosa meet.

This filly’s sire, Jess Good Candy, was the No. 5 stallion for 2-year-olds in the country in 2021 with his top runner being Jess Savin Candy, who won two legs in the Quarter Horse Triple Crown – the Ruidoso Futurity and the Rainbow Futurity. He went into the $3 million All American Futurity as the favorite but ran fourth in that final. He earned $1,046,200 in his 2-year-old season. All of Jess Good Candy’s progeny earned $1,868,637 for the year.

FG Jess Jess won the 10^th race by a half-length over BV Ringo. Watch out for that horse as well, however, as that gelding produced an 82 speed index, which was good enough to win every other race Wednesday, despite his runner-up finish in this spot.

Crawford’s day started out well as horses he sent to the track also won the fourth, seventh, eighth and ninth races. He won with FDD Cloud, Apollitical Chick V (:13.650, 77), Ferdinando (:13.608, 79), Betterthanwas (;13.721, 75) and then FG Jess Jess, respectively. The latter, the quickest on the day, is owned by the late Linda T. Gordon, who passed away in December 2021.

Crawford concluded his sharp afternoon in the 12^th race with runner-up, Empowered.
