TOP OKLAHOMA-BRED 2-YEAR-OLDS SET FOR SATURDAY’S REMINGTON PARK FUTURITY

OKLAHOMA CITY – April 17, 2020 – The restricted Grade 1, $891,900 Remington Park Futurity headlines a stellar racing program for Saturday night. The event for eligible Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds will be contested at 330 yards and is the ninth race of 10 on the evening, which also includes seven other stakes races.

Dalts Fancy Pistol, the top qualifier from the second night of time trials on April 4 for the Remington Park Futurity, has been made the morning-line favorite at 3-1 odds. The top qualifier from the April 3 trials, Eye Work For You, is second in the morning line at 7-2 odds. Both runners are undefeated through two career attempts this season.

Owned and bred in Oklahoma by owners Larry Thompson and Don Anthony, Dalts Fancy Pistol won her career debut against maidens at Remington Park on March 8, by a half-length. The filly by Im A Fancy PYC from the Mr Eye Opener mare Dalts Pistol won her futurity trial by a widening 1-3/4 lengths under jockey Rolando Raudales who will again be up in the final. Dalts Fancy Pistol’s owner and jockey are seeking their first Remington Park Futurity win.

Trainer Guillermo Valdivia will saddle Dalts Fancy Pistol, looking for his third career win in the Remington Park Futurity. He also triumphed with Streakin Six Cartel (2008) and Regard With Respect (2015).

Eye Work For You broke his maiden status at Remington Park on March 13 before posting a top trial time on the first night of qualifying for this futurity. Owned by Jose Guzman and trained by Marcos Carrizales, Eye Work For You rallied to win his trial by a half-length under James Flores who keeps the assignment for the futurity. A gelding by Coronas Leaving You from the Mr Eye Opener mare Eye Love It, Eye Work For You was bred in Oklahoma by Jose Acosta.

The connections of Eye Work For You are all attempting to win their first Remington Park Futurity, except for jockey James Flores. He is trying to win his second to add to his victory on La Vencedora (2017).

The Remington Park Futurity is set to leave the gate at approximately 9:35pm. The other stakes races on the program:

Race 4: $48,500 Mr Master Bug Stakes, 350yds, 3yo (OK-breds)

Race 5: $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile, 330yds, 2yo (OK-breds)

Race 6: $84,000 Sooner State Stakes, 400yds, 3yo and older (OK-breds)

Race 7: $51,000 Easy Date Stakes, 350yds, 3yo and older

Race 8: $268,700 Remington Park Derby, 400yds, 3yo (OK-breds)

Race 10: $34,000 Bob Moore Memorial, 300yds, 3yo and older

The first race of the night is scheduled for 6pm. All times are Central.
