RELENTLESSLY CONTINUES DOMINANCE AT REMINGTON PARK, WINNING BOB MOORE MEMORIAL
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – April 18, 2022 – Relentlessly is proving himself virtually unbeatable at Remington Park as he won his second stakes race in a row this meet, securing the Grade 2, $50,240 Bob Moore Memorial Stakes on Saturday night.
The 4-year-old horse by Hes Relentless, out of the Carters Cartel mare Runaway Renata, also won the $50,000 Eastex Stakes on March 19 here. Jockey Raul Valenzuela was in the irons for both stakes wins.
The Bob Moore Memorial was Relentlessly’s sixth win in nine starts in Oklahoma City. He earned $29,838 for the victory and improved to 14 starts, eight wins, three seconds and one third for lifetime earnings of $340,400. He was purchased by his owner for a mere $9,700 at the Heritage Place September Yearling Sale in 2019.
At Remington Park, he has six wins in nine tries and has earned $301,755. Last year on May 29, Relentlessly had one of the biggest wins of his career, winning the $361,000 Heritage Place Derby, beating Instygator, who went on to win the All American Derby at Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico later in the year.
Valenzuela rode for owner Aguila Negra Racing (Jose Huerta) of Fairview Heights Ill. Huerta also trains the horse.
Relentlessly, the heavy wagering favorite at 4-5 odds, hit the wire three-quarters of a length, beating Sheza Freighttrain T, the second favorite at 2-1 odds. Dickey Bob checked in third at 7-1 odds, a half-length back of the runner-up. It was a rare finish where the top three betting choices finished first-second-third in a race. Relentlessly’s time at 300 yards over the fast track was :15.185 for a 99 speed index.
Relentlessly paid $3.80 to win, $2.20 to place and $2.10 to show. Relentlessly was bred in Texas by Randy and Sandy Coleman. It was the first win in this stakes for all the connections.
The Bob Moore Memorial is named in honor of the Hall of Fame horseman who was prominent in American Quarter Horse racing for over four decades, operating from his Norman, Okla. farm. Bob Moore Farms continues to be a leader in breeding quality horses.
