RELENTLESS KNOCKOUT WINS FL LADY BUG STAKES AT REMINGTON PARK
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – May 31, 2025 —Relentless Knockout stacked the FL Lady Bug Stakes on top of her maiden-breaking victory just 16 days ago, winning her second consecutive race on Saturday, May 31 at Remington Park.
Owned by Alcala Ranch of Jones, Okla. and trained by Cristian Alcala, Relentless Knockout was ridden by Juan Pulido. The $75,000 FL Lady Bug Stakes was at 350 yards for 2-year-old Oklahoma-bred fillies.
After a solid start, Relentless Knockout powered home to a three-quarter length victory over BP Hail Mary. Tell Sashay Shes Hot broke out at the start, then circled the field to make a big rally for third-place, only a nose behind BP Hail Mary. Illegal Cowgirl 123 was the 3-2 wagering favorite but was never really involved in the race, finishing last.
Relentless Knockout hit the finish line in :17.614 on the fast track for a 90 speed index.
Let go at 5-1 odds, Relentless Knockout paid $13.60 to win, $6.40 to place and $4.20 to show.
The FL Lady Bug Stakes is the second win from three attempts this season at Remington Park for Relentless Knockout, after breaking her maiden status on May 15. The win in the stakes gained $43,200, pushing the young career earnings for Relentless Knockout to $58,615.
This was the first victory in the FL Lady Bug Stakes for owner Alcala Ranch and trainer Cristian Alcala. Pulido won the FL Lady Bug for the second time, he also won in 2022 aboard Eye On The Card.
The remaining order of finish in the FL Lady Bug Stakes after the top three finishers: Beltane, 4th; Shez An Outgoing Gal, 5th; Bernina Express, 6th; Queen Sin Tacha, 7th, then Illegal Cowgirl 123, 8th and last.
The FL Lady Bug Stakes is named after FL Lady Bug, a prominent broodmare and American Quarter Horse Association Hall of Fame inductee. She was owned by Hall of Fame owners and breeders Marvin and Lela Barnes of Ada, Okla.

CompSource is no longer the state agent in Oklahoma, and the new state agent is NCCI. Because of that change, CompSource is no longer required to cover high-risk employers, so some folks are getting denied at renewal.

• Track renovations were delayed due to weather. Unfortunately, training will be postponed until Saturday, 2/7. While this is an inconvenience, we appreciate Remington Park’s commitment to providing a safe racing surface.
• Carly with APHA will be in the racing office Thursday, 2/5 if you have Paint papers that need to be transferred.
• Schooling race entries are Friday. Registration papers must be on file, and owners must have $125 in their account at time of entry. The draw for schooling races will be Monday, 2/9.
• Hair Testing at Remington Park begins Thursday, 2/5 and will be Monday–Friday. Appointments must be made by noon the day prior by calling or texting (405) 881-5120.
• Safe date for opening weekend is February 12.
• Zero date is noon on February 18.
• If you have digital Health Certificates, they must be printed and in hand when arriving at the stable gate.
Finally: There has been an EIA positive at BRD. We are working closely with state authorities and Remington Park management to determine protocols moving forward. At this time, no horses from the Sallisaw Training Center (BRD) are being allowed on the grounds.
