OKLAHOMA RACING COMMISSION DIRECTIVES AUTHORIZED FEBRUARY 27, 2024
DIRECTIVE 2024-1 modified OAC 325:60-1-20 by returning the interference and placement rule for quarter horses, paints, and appaloosas to its former language. Commonly referred to as category 2. ↠ HERE
DIRECTIVE 2024-2 modifies OAC 325:45-1-6.1 (Thoroughbreds) and 6.2 (Quarter Horses, Paints and Appaloosas) by changing the threshold for Flunixin to 5 ng/ml and Phenylbutazone to .3 ug/ml and by restricting the permitting the presence of only one non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and one corticosteroid. ↠ HERE
DIRECTIVE 2024-4 modifies OAC 325:45-1-27 to prohibit the practice of desensitizing the nerve above the foot. ↠ HERE
DIRECTIVE 2024-5 modifies OAC 325:25-1-10 to define as ineligible a horse that has not raced in twelve (12) months and/or a four (4) years old or older horse that has never started a race. These horses are placed on the Stewards’ List or the Official Veterinarian’s List. ↠ HERE

Schooling Race Reminder for Owners and Trainers
✔️ Funds must be in the owner’s account at the time of entry for schooling races ✔️ Horse registration papers must be on file in the office at the time of entry ✔️ Schooling race fee: $125.00 per horse
💰 Accepted payment methods: • Personal check • Cashier’s check • Cash • Bank wire transfer 🚫 Credit cards are NOT accepted
📬 If you are mailing funds, please allow adequate time for postal delivery. Funds must be posted to the specific owner account that owns the schooling horse at the time of entry.
🤝 Partnerships: If the horse is owned by a partnership, please be sure the bookkeeper knows which partnership account the funds should be deposited into.

Trainer Workers Comp info.
CompSource is no longer the state agent in Oklahoma, and the new state agent is NCCI. Because of that change, CompSource is no longer required to cover high-risk employers, so some folks are getting denied at renewal.
NCCI website can look up agent info and see what their options are: www.ncci.com (We’ve talked to Jackson with Stavely Insurance in Sallisaw, and he has written policies for some trainers. His number is (918) 775-4344.)
Please note: it takes a couple of days to get the policy processed so please plan ahead and don’t wait until the day you need the certificate! ... ’Expand’See Less
