𝑶𝑲𝑳𝑨𝑯𝑶𝑴𝑨 𝑪𝑰𝑻𝒀, 𝑶𝑲 – 𝑴𝒂𝒚 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 – 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬 had not had a race in 2025 but came into Remington Park sparkling like the Hope Diamond in her trial for the 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝟐, $𝟑𝟎𝟎,𝟗𝟎𝟎 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐎𝐚𝐤𝐬. When the seven-race trial series ended early Sunday night, she was easily the fastest qualifier.
The Heritage Place Oaks is a 400-yard race set for the final night of the Remington Park spring season, Saturday, May 31. The event is part of an all-stakes evening, Champions Night, with the richest purses of the season on the line, topping $2 million overall.
Rainbow of Diamonds, a 3-year-old Oklahoma-bred filly by Apollitical Blood, from the Tres Seis mare CC Seis, didn’t blink an eye coming off a layoff from Oct. 27, 2024 to May 11, 2025. 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐳-𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 had her set on ready and 𝐣𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧 had the pedal to the metal in this speedy trial. She raced in the second trial of seven and put up a time of :19.286, earning a speed-index of 105 over the fast track. Rainbow of Diamonds did that with a 13-mph tailwind on an 80-degree day in Oklahoma City. The wind did die down under 10 mph in the later trials.
Calderon was tied on and burst down the track when Rainbow of Diamonds won by a visually impressive 2-1/2 lengths. She was sent off at 4-5 odds as the prohibitive favorite and paid $3.80 to win, $3 place and $2.10 to show.
Rainbow of Diamonds won for the fourth time in her career, racing for 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 (𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐲 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨) of Odessa, Texas for the first time in this Heritage Place Oaks trial. As a 2-year-old she competed for Xcel Farms of Asher, Okla. and trained Ed Hardy.
Rainbow of Diamonds has now started nine times with four wins, and two thirds for earnings of $78,893. She was a $22,000 purchase from the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale in 2023. Her breeder in Oklahoma was Danny Joe Miller.
Rainbow of Diamonds has shown an affinity for Remington Park. As a 2-year-old last year, she won a Heritage Place Futurity trial but broke 10th in the $1 million final, never giving herself a shot at winning that cornerstone race, finishing ninth.

𝑶𝑲𝑳𝑨𝑯𝑶𝑴𝑨 𝑪𝑰𝑻𝒀, 𝑶𝑲 – 𝑴𝒂𝒚 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 – How the tables have turned in one year. The 𝒇𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒓 Saturday at Remington Park for this year’s 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝟐, $𝟐𝟒𝟒,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐲, 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬, finished 10th in last year’s $1 million Heritage Place Futurity.
Last year’s Heritage Place Futurity winner, Kempton, also ran in the Derby trials Saturday and was the 10th-fastest qualifier, almost knocked off the bubble in the final trial. According to these trials, these two quality 3-year-old American Quarter Horses have flip-flopped positions since last May.
House of Lords hit the finish line in the first of four trials on the night in a time of :19.422 seconds at 400 yards on a fast track 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧, earning a speed-index of 101. This 3-year-old Oklahoma-bred gelded son of Flying Cowboy 123, out of the Okey Dokey Dale mare This Candys Okay, was the only finalist to break the 100-mark for a speed index. He won his trial by only a neck over Toastin Heros (5-1), who was another neck ahead of third-place finisher Curls Magic Wagon (1-2 post-time favorite). The fourth-place runner, Apolitical Time (18-1) was only a head back of Curls Magic Wagon. This blanket finish was so tight and fast that the top four horses in this trial were the four fastest horses of the entire night.
House of Lords, 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐳-𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬, was sent off at 7-2 odds and paid $9.20 to win, $4.60 to place and $2.40 to show. He earned $5,775 in this trial for 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 (𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐲 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨) 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚, 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐬, and improved his lifetime record to eight starts, four wins, one second and $58,932 in earnings. House of Lords, 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐖𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡, was purchased for $65,000 from the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale in 2023.
The Heritage Place Derby, is a 400-yard race for 3-year-old Quarter Horses scheduled to be run on the final night of the season, Saturday, May 31.

𝑶𝑲𝑳𝑨𝑯𝑶𝑴𝑨 𝑪𝑰𝑻𝒀, 𝑶𝑲 – 𝑴𝒂𝒚 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 – The sprite 98-year-old 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐧 is trying to make the magic happen again in this year’s 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝟏, $𝟏,𝟏𝟔𝟏,𝟎𝟏𝟎 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, after she won Oklahoma’s richest horse race in 2022 with Tres Crystals.
Logan, of Haskell, Okla., wasn’t on hand at Remington Park on Friday night on day two of the Heritage Place Futurity trials when her 2-year-old Oklahoma-bred gelding, Jay W, was the 𝒇𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒓. The final is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, the final night of the Remington Park season.
“She wasn’t here,” said leading 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫, of Logan on trials night, “but, I’ll bet she was at the simulcast facility in Tulsa (Okla.). She can’t really see anymore, but she has a woman who drives her, and, oh yeah, she will be here for the finals with this horse. She has to have her friends tell her how her horse is doing during a race.”
Jay W, with a 13 mph tailwind in the third of 13 trials, put up a time of :17.407 seconds over a fast track in the in his trial as the fastest of the night, earning a 96 speed-index for the 350-yard run. The wind significantly died down below double figures in the later trials.
A gelded son of Valiant Hero, out of the Apollitical Jess mare A Pollitical Phoebe, Jay W was bought at the Heritage Place September Yearling Sale last fall for $42,000.
Jay W picked this night to break his maiden and did it at 12-1 odds even though he was campaigning out of the top trainer’s barn the past three Remington Park meets. Prior to this trial win, Jay W had run second in his Oklahoma Futurity trial on March 7. He then lost to Fasterthanmybrothers in a subsequent maiden event, he got revenge on that rival in this trial score.
Fasterthanmybrothers (5-1) could only manage a fourth-place run on Friday against Jay W. The 6-5 post-time favorite, DR Whizkey on Ice, got up for third in this same trial. Jay W won by three-quarters of a length over runner-up Cyber Command III (9-2), who was a half-length ahead of Fasterthanmybrothers.
𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐀𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐮𝐩 for all three lifetime attempts by Jay W.
Logan won $467,225 when Tres Crystals won the Heritage Place Futurity in 2022. She is now hoping to experience a similar richly rewarding victory in about three weeks.
