TULSA, OK—JULY 10, 2020—Under jockey Kevin Camacho High Value Of Return raced his third career win Friday night will posting the fastest qualifying time for the Grade 2 Speedhorse Futurity at Fair Meadows.
The 10 fastest qualifier will return to Fair Meadows on Saturday, July 25th to vie for the winners’ share of a $139,900 purse going 350 yards.
High Value Of Return battled fellow qualifier Reigning Kisses to a neck win to get the top mark of :17.761 seconds, equaling a 90 speed index. It was the second straight win for the son of multiple stakes sire High Rate Of Return.
Trainer Fidencio Jimenez saddled the Oklahoma-bred for owner-breeder Mark McPhail. Out of the Kelly Kip (TB) mare Kips Little Clique, High Value Of Return has compiled a (5) 3-0-0 record and banked $27,990 this season. She was a finalist in the Remington Park Juvenile earlier this year.
Spotty Politics, under jockey Daniel Torres, raced to his second consecutive win in the opening trial while posting an impressive 1-¼ length win to get the second fastest qualifying time of :17.789 seconds.
Matthew Eck owns-and-trains the son of a leading second-crop sire Apollitical Blood from the Favorite Cartel mare Sunspot Babie. The $21,000 Heritage Place September Yearling Sale graduate was bred in Oklahoma by Andy Knight.
The aforementioned Reigning Kisses held for the third fastest time of :17.808. Maria Barraza-Rodriguez trains the Texas-bred daughter of a leading second-crop sire Kiss My Hocks. Owner Monica Estrada paid $12,500 at the Heritage Place September Yearling Sale.
Bred by Conda Maze and Bob McClure, Reigning Kisses has compiled a (4) 2-1-1 record and banked $20,626. She was third in the Oklahoma Juvenile in March.
