ENTICE ME ONA MONDAY EASILY FASTEST TRAINING RACE WINNER THURSDAY AT REMINGTON PARK FROM HOT BARN OF JASON OLMSTEAD
by Richard Linihan
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – February 27, 2025 – The fastest training race winner Thursday at Remington Park, Entice Me Ona Monday, was the first horse to post a speed index higher than 80 in the four days of schooling events the past two weeks.
Entice Me Ona Monday, a 2-year-old gelded Oklahoma-bred son of Cyber Monday, out of the Make It Anywhere mare Enticilizeur, won the second race of nine on Thursday with a time of :13.381 for 250 yards on the fast track, earning an 85 speed index. The second-fastest training race winner on Thursday merely posted a 77. No other winner among 46 training races this meet have broken an 80.
Entice Me Ona Monday comes from the hottest barn pre-meet, that of trainer Jason Olmstead, who won five training races Wednesday, and four of nine Thursday.
Entice Me Ona Monday also put an exclamation mark on a sire that has been prevalent in these training races this year, Cyber Monday. That sire also produced Beltane, the fastest training race winner of the day Tuesday for two-time defending champion trainer here, Dee Keener. If that weren’t enough, Cyber Monday also was the sire of Thursday’s fourth training race winner – MH Cyber Spy, also an Olmstead trainee.
Olmstead, of Pryor, Okla., conditions the three fastest horses from Thursday. He had the top four fastest on Wednesday. All races are at 250 yards for training race events.
Jockey Ramiro Garcia was in the irons for Olmstead on Entice Me Ona Monday for his swift win. The gelding is owned by Tejas Troubadours from Rhome, Texas, and was bred by Monty McNair. Cyber Monday won five-of-nine starts in his career for $528,428 in earnings and won trials for all three Quarter Horse Triple Crown races – the Ruidoso Futurity, Rainbow Futurity and All American in New Mexico. Cyber Monday had his picture taken in the Grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity in 2020, winning that final at Ruidoso Downs, N.M. He stands for $4,000 at Lazy E Ranch in Guthrie, Okla. This is the stallion’s first season for progeny to race. Entice Me Ona Monday’s breeder is also the manager at the Lazy E Ranch.
The other training race winners (all Quarter Horses), their times (in order from fastest to slowest), speed index, trainers and race number were:
MH Cyber Spy, :13.594, 77, Jason Olmstead, race four
Jess Good Spice, :13.627, 75, Fernando Manriquez, race one
Emerald Bay, :13.663, 74, Dee Keener, race six
Flashin the Candy, :13.664, 74, Jason Olmstead, race five
