BV GEORGY GIRL COMES TO REMINGTON PARK FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS, TAKES FEATURED ALLOWANCE RACE IN SECOND OUT

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – April 11, 2021 – BV Georgy Girl came close to winning the second race of her career as a 2-year-old last year in the Ruidoso Futurity trials in New Mexico, so it was no surprise that at 3 years old it wouldn’t take her long to find the winner’s circle.

The daughter of Tempting Dash, out of the Tres Seis mare Ms Tres Seis, nearly beat allowance horses that had never won two races in her first start this spring at Remington Park. She ran third, beaten less than a length. When she tried that class again Sunday night, she was the winner. In the Ruidoso Futurity trials last year on May 22, she faced horses that were trying to qualify for a final that featured a purse of $1 million. Losing by a half-length in her trial, finishing third, was certainly a sign of a productive future. When she stepped onto the track at Remington Park on Sunday, she was on her toes and shining like a pretty penny in the post parade.

When the 12 horses broke from the gate, she was quickly on top, under the riding services of Ruben Castro, who had a riding double Sunday. The swift, sorrel filly out of trainer Eddie Lee Willis’ barn, finished up strong to win. It was only the sixth start of her career and she checked in first at 9-2 odds. BV Georgy Girl paid $11.60, $5.40 and $4.20 across the board. Her winning time for the 350-yard race was :17.698 seconds as she chalked up an 85 speed index.

She outlasted runner-up Jerry James Rf (5-1) by three-quarters of a length and third-place finisher Peves Big Hoss (21-1), who was another half-length back. The 5-2 favorite in the race, Aint Working did not break sharply and was caught behind horses most of the way, finishing seventh.

BV Georgy Girl earned $14,772 from the $25,500 purse and improved her career mark to six starts, two wins, and two thirds for a total bankroll of $30,257 for owner Bella Vista Farms (Fred Helmuth of Arcola, Ill). The filly was bred in Oklahoma by the owner.

Live racing continues next week with a Thursday-Sunday schedule, post time of 6 p.m. nightly.
