BOOMIN WITH EAGLES WINS FOR THIRD TIME IN LAST FOUR TRIES FROM RED-HOT TOBY KEETON BARN
Written by Richard Linehan
OKLAHOMA CITY – March 24, 2022 – Boomin With Eagles jumped on top early and was ahead late, outlasting a field of eight other horses in the featured starter allowance race on Thursday night at Remington Park.
It was the third win in the 4-year-old mare’s last four starts from the sizzling hot barn of trainer Toby Keeton. Last year’s top rider at Remington Park, Juan Pulido, was in the saddle for the victory.
The daughter of Flyingwitheagles, out of the Heza Fast Man mare Trista Boom, broke her maiden in October at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas and has been virtually impossible to beat since then. She ran second, beaten only a head in starter-optional claiming company the next time out at Lone Star and then started another winning streak. She won with $20,000 claiming non-winners of two races in her next Texas start before taking some time off before returning here.
It was the first time Boomin With Eagles raced at Remington Park, but she showed she is tough to beat when she gets first jump out of the gate. Pulido made sure she got that and she finished a head in front of 3-1 favorite JF Princess Storm.
Boomin With Eagles, owned by Three Bar T Quarter Horses (Debbie Tiffee) of Kingsville, Texas, was sent off at 6-1 odds and paid $14.20, $4 and $5.20 across the board to win, place and show. She earned an 88 speed index with her winning time of :15.518 for 300 yards on a fast track. Go Rhonda Go (17-1 longshot) checked in third, another head back in the blanket finish.
Boomin With Eagles earned $13,524 for her victory from the $25,410 purse and improved her lifetime record to six starts, three wins and two seconds for $33,538 earned. Her winning drive came up the rail from the post-position one. She was bred in New Mexico by Pair O Dice Ranch.
It was one of two wins for Pulido on Thursday night. He also won race six aboard The Heavy Favorite, who actually went off as the second favorite in the race at 4-1. He rode that winner for trainer Juan Torres.
The two Pulido victories moved him into a tie for third place in the jockey standings with eight trips to the winner’s circle. Francisco Calderon and Jesus Salazar also have eight each. Jorge Torres rode two winners Thursday and resides in second with 10 wins, three behind leader Cody Smith at 13.
Keeton’s barn has been sending out nothing but winners in his short stint this meet here, scoring with four-of-nine starts for a 44 percent win clip. He also has had a second and third. In the trainer standings, he is tied for ninth. Only Bill Goodnight, who also has four wins, is hotter with four winners from six starters.
Live racing continues with the first Food Truck Friday promotion on March 25. First post time is 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, then 4 p.m. on Sunday. All times are Central.

The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association (OQHRA) has confirmed the detection of Olodaterol through pre-entry hair testing protocols required for participation at Oklahoma racetracks. Olodaterol is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist, a class of bronchodilators that includes strictly prohibited substances such as clenbuterol, albuterol, and carmoterol.
Olodaterol is not an approved substance in racehorses, and its presence constitutes a violation of integrity standards. The positive findings were made as a condition of entry through OQHRA-managed hair testing, not by the regulatory body, and as such, horses testing positive were ruled ineligible for entry.
While reports of Olodaterol have surfaced in other states through hair samples, OQHRA is not currently aware of any confirmed positives in blood or urine samples. This reinforces the value of hair testing in identifying substances that may otherwise go undetected.
“This is a clear example of why hair testing matters,” said Krissy Bamberg, Executive Director of OQHRA. “Whether used pre-entry to prevent horses from competing, or post-race for official adjudication, hair testing provides a longer detection window and a clearer picture of the medications and substances a horse has been exposed to.”
OQHRA will continue to support and expand the use of hair testing as part of its integrity and welfare program. In addition, the association will continue to advocate for the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission to adopt hair testing as a standard matrix within the state’s official biological testing program. This includes both post-race testing and out-of-competition testing.
“We strongly encourage the Commission to expand its use of hair testing,” said Bamberg. “It's a reliable, science-based tool that gives regulators the ability to detect long-term exposure to prohibited substances and strengthens our ability to ensure fairness and safety in the sport.”
OQHRA and our partner racetracks remain committed to identifying and deterring the use of new and emerging substances and protecting the integrity of racing in Oklahoma. ... ’Expand’See Less

Why don’t you just require hair testing in test barn of top 2 finishers. Wouldn’t that be a more accurate chance to catch abuse?
You don’t find it in blood and urine because hair testing is highly variable and substances can last for years after it’s been administered.
Felipe Martinez this what you Ben saying all along
The Louisiana Racing Commission STILL does not recognize the hair testing we owners have been paying for the last few years!
Guess you missed the news from LA??
