ALLIEKAT DYNASTY RUNS HER WIN STREAK TO SIX IN ROW, TAKING DECKETTA STAKES UNDER JOCKEY ROMAN CRUZ
By Richard Linihan
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – April 17, 2024– Alliekat Dynasty is one of those fillies that refuses to lose and it was her determined effort that bagged her the win Saturday night in the Grade 2 $55,280 Decketta Stakes under jockey Roman Cruz.
This 3-year-old Quarter Horse filly by Fdd Dynasty, out of the Apollitical Jess mare Pollitical Scorpion, won her third stakes in a row and remains undefeated in five starts at the distance of 350 yards.
“She broke good and I didn’t have to ask her (to run) much,” Cruz said. “When it came time to ask her, she gave me everything. Just a great mare.”
Alliekat Dynasty began her stakes run here last spring, winning the $70,000 Fl Lady Bugs Stakes at this same distance on May 27, 2023. All three stakes wins came with Cruz in the saddle for trainer Jesus Ruiz. After leaving Remington Park, the filly resurfaced at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla., and won the $203,000 Mystery Stakes on Sept. 25, again at 350 yards.
On Saturday night, she earned $34,530 for owner Arrowhead Racing (Anita Ruiz) of Wapanucka, Okla. That ownership also includes Gary Hensley, who was beaming in the winner’s circle after the race.
“We bought her from a friend and she was bred by Jahree Standridge (in Oklahoma), who is like a grandmother to us,” said Hensley. “This filly is such a sweetheart; does everything to win every time.”
Alliekat Dynasty outlasted an extremely tough field top to bottom. She hit the wire, at a generous 5-1 odds, a neck in front of 5-2 favorite Pops First Lady, who made a late rush to get into second. The third-place finisher, Fox News (9-2), was another half-length behind. Following her, the margins were a neck, a head, a head and a head back to the sixth-place runner. Ima Fancee Chik (9-2) ran fourth, followed by Vytaliti (9-1) in fifth, One Famous Lil Lady (5-1) sixth, A Dream to Fill (25-1) seventh, Aj Fast Corona (18-1) eighth, Capo de Story (22-1) ninth and Curls Joyful Wagon (11-1) 10th.
The winner improved her record to seven starts, six wins for lifetime earnings of $184,221. At Remington Park, she has won four-of-five starts for an Oklahoma City bankroll of $99,897. Her only loss in her career was a fifth-place finish in a maiden race at Remington Park in her debut on a sloppy track. She is six-for-six lifetime on a fast track.
Live racing resumes Sunday with a 4 p.m. first post time with 10 races on tap.
