OKLAHOMA CITY  – March 11, 2019 – The Grade 3, $50,000 SLM Big Daddy Stakes drew a field of 12 for this Saturday night at Remington Park. The 550-yard event features stakes-racing regulars making their 2020 debuts, including the race winner a year ago.

Rock About It, owned by Rockin J Running Horses of Gatesville, Texas and trained by Tammy Johnson, scored a one-length win in the 2019 SLM Big Daddy. That triumph turned out to be his only win of the year. However, Rock About It will return to one of his favorite racing distances, having never lost at 550 yards in four career starts.

Tough To Bee was in the money in both of Remington Park’s top races for veterans in 2019. Owned by Paragon Farms of Conroe, Texas and trained by Blane Wood, Tough To Bee will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez from outside post-position 12 in the SLM Big Daddy Stakes.

Shockinglyfamous makes his 4-year-old return, trying to add the SLM Big Daddy to his most recent win in the Altoona Derby at Prairie Meadows in Iowa in October 2019. Trained by Kasey Willis, jockey Agustin Silva has been named to ride the horse.

Hot Dam Bam A Lam, in the money in eight of his nine lifetime starts at Remington Park, comes into the SLM Big Daddy after scoring victory in the Grade 1 Refrigerator Stakes last fall. Trained by Trey Ellis, jockey John Hamilton is on again after guiding Hot Dam Bam A Lam to his last two victories.

Blazen Panther leads the field for the SLM Big Daddy with 11 career victories from a field-leading 49 attempts. Tough To Bee is the top earner in the field with $727,227 from his 29 career starts.
