OWNER AURELIO JUAREZ HAS STABLE OF FAST STOCK AS HE GETS FASTEST REMINGTON PARK TRAINING RACE WINNER FOR SECOND STRAIGHT DAY

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – February 26, 2026If training races are any indication, count on the stable of owner Aurelio Juarez of Cleburne, Texas, to have a banner race meeting at Remington Park.

For the second day in a row, a Juarez horse was the fastest of the day in 10 training races for first-time starters preparing for the upcoming American Quarter Horse, Paint and Appaloosa meet that starts next week on Thursday, March 5. Today, it was Just Delightful that was the swiftest of 10 races at 250 yards.

A 2-year-old Utah-bred son of Corona Cartel, out of the Dash Ta Fame mare Our Genuine Delight, Just Delightful stopped the timer in :13.543 on a fast track to win his training race by a neck, earning a 78 speed index with a 10 mph tailwind. The wind, for the most part, did not deviate much from first to last race over the fast track while temperatures stayed around 70 degrees.

GOLD PRIZE HONEY ENJOYS STRONG TAILWIND FOR TOP THURSDAY TRAINING RACE TIME AT REMINGTON PARK

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – February 19, 2026After the stiff headwind that started the Thursday of 13 training races at Remington Park, switched to a strong tailwind just past the halfway point, it was just natural that one of the horses in the latter races was the fastest of the day.

That’s exactly what happened as Gold Prize Honey in the ninth race stopped the clock in :13.352 for 250 yards over a fast track. That was the quickest of all 13 races, run with a tailwind of 21 mph. The 2-year-old Texas-bred American Quarter Horse filly earned a speed index of 86. She was the only runner that broke 80 on the chart Thursday.

Gold Prize Honey looked more like her father than she did her mother on this day. She is sired by Gold Heart Eagle V, who finished his short racing career with a win in the 2020 Grade 1 All American Derby at Ruidoso Downs, N.M., to bump his earnings to $530,883. He banked that in only seven career starts. His last four speed indexes went from 92 to 101 to 107 to 108 in the Derby and then he was retired to stallion duty.

TRAINER TREY WOOD RULES DAY WITH FIVE REMINGTON PARK TRAINING RACE WINNERS INCLUDING FASTEST IN DANGEROUS LEIGH

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – February 18, 2026There are three things that are 100 percent certain in life – death, taxes and trainer Trey Wood ruling Remington Park in training races on the third week of February. He did it again Tuesday for the third year in a row.

Wood’s 2-year-olds preparing for the upcoming American Quarter Horse, Paint and Appaloosa Season, won five of 12 races Wednesday. Jockey Ricky Ramirez had the mount on Dangerous Leigh.

Last year, on this same week of February, Wood’s juveniles won 5-of-14 schooling events and the year before that, they won 8-of-10.

SCOTT ROAD OVERCOMES CHALLENGES, STILL WINS FASTEST REMINGTON PARK TRAINING RACE WITH CLOSING KICK

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – February 12, 2026 – With fractiousness surrounding him in the gate, Scott Road didn’t let it bother him as he cruised to the fastest win of the day in nine training races Thursday at Remington Park. The 2-year-old colt closed ground for the 250-yard victory.

The 2-year-old California-bred colt by Seperate Interest, out of the Corona Cartel mare Remember the Cartel, was in post-position three awaiting the break from the starting gate when the 2-horse, Volcoms Marine YG, reared up, putting his legs over the gate, encroaching on the 1-horse, Big Hero Monday’s territory. The Volcoms Marine YG wasn’t happy with jumping into the next starting gate, so he started kicking as well. The 4-horse, Leaf On the Wind, ran loose in the paddock and carried on pre-race as well.

Somehow, with bad actors all around him, Scott Road still broke straight as an arrow and chased down the No. 5 horse, Valiant Hocks, for the victory in a time of :13.903 for a speed index of 64 into a headwind of about 15 mph. Big Hero Monday also deserved some kudos for running third despite sharing his stall with the Volcoms Marine YG prior to the start. Jockey Edwin Escobedo guided Scott Road to the training race win.

TRAINER CLINT CRAWFORD SENDS OUT FASTEST TRAINING RACE WINNER AT REMINGTON PARK WITH JESS XQUIZIT

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – February 11, 2026Trainer Clint Crawford sent out two winners in nine training races Wednesday at Remington Park, including the fastest American Quarter Horse of the day – the filly Jess Xquizit – blazing to a win in the final race of nine on the day.

Jockey Jorge Torres rode the 2-year-old daughter of Apollitical Jess to the win at 250 yards in :13.675 over the fast track for a speed index of 73. The race went off with a 59-degree temperature and a 6mph tailwind. Jess Xquizit, an Arizona-bred out of the Ivory James mare Xquizit, won the race by an open 1-1/2 lengths after breaking inward from the post-position six. Once she straightened out, Jess Xquizit began to pull away from the field. Jess Xquizit was bred by John and Kathy Lee.

She’s a pretty nice filly,” said Crawford. “It was only the third time she had broken from a gate, but she has been a natural from the first time we introduced her to a gate. She left there running.”

Schooling races are an important part of preparing horses to race. For 2026, there are updated procedures in place, and it is important that horsemen understand the expectations before entering.

Entry process and schedule
Entries for schooling races will be taken on Fridays, and races will be drawn on Mondays at 11:00 a.m. Jockey agents must be present at the draw to name riders. There will be no more than 14 schooling races per day.
Horsemen should review the entry schedule and make sure entries are submitted on time.
Entry fee and jockey mount payment
The total fee for each schooling race entry is $125.
That fee is broken down as follows:
$50 schooling race fee
$75 jockey mount fee
This change was made after jockeys requested compensation for schooling race mounts. OQHRA entered into an agreement to address that request and ensure riders are paid for their participation. No horse will be drawn into a schooling race unless the full fee is on file. There will be no exceptions.
Registration papers and funding
Two requirements will be strictly enforced for schooling race entries:
Foal registration papers must be on file
Owner accounts must have sufficient funds to cover the entry fee

Having registration papers on file ensures correct identification and accurate information. Having owner accounts properly funded avoids last-minute issues and delays.

OQHRA understands this is a change for everyone and encourages horsemen to ensure their papers are in order and accounts are properly funded prior to schooling or entering races.

Schooling Race Payment Required Before Race

Owners need to be sure their accounts have funds available prior to schooling races. Any horse that has not been paid for will be scratched in the paddock and not allowed to participate in training race. The total fee for each schooling race entry is $125 broken down as follows: $50 per horse and a $75 jockey mount fee.
