Online Appointment and Payment Portal
OQHRA has created an easy way to schedule appointments and/or pay for hair testing! This is a digital way to make an appointment for up to 10 horses and make the payment online so that when you arrive for hair testing all the paperwork will be ready to go! For trainers with owners needing to pay – Call/Text and schedule a time (405) 881-5120 and then send your owners the link along with the day/time you have an appointment. They do need to know when the appointment is and the horses name to be able to pay online.

- Allow up to 10 business days for test results. No horse will be allowed to enter a race before results come back.
- In case of a positive test, Fair Meadows Management will contact the trainer.
- Special consideration will be made for horses needing to be tested in other jurisdictions. Contact the hair testing phone number for more info. Off-site testing will have to be approved on a case-by-case basis and must be conducted by a veterinarian under the auspices of a state regulatory body (racing commission) or Department of Agriculture.
It is trainer/owner responsibility to determine the best time to have a horse tested and to make the necessary arrangements. OQHRA makes every effort to contact the connections of horses nominated to any futurity or derby out of courtesy. It is your responsibility to know what races your horses will be running in and schedule an appointment accordingly. There will be no “Rush” samples, outside of stakes qualifiers.
HAIR TESTING AS A CONDITION OF ENTRY
NO QUARTER HORSE, PAINT OR APPALOOSA HORSE WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER A RACE AT FAIR MEADOWS UNLESS RESULTS OF A NEGATIVE HAIR TEST HAS BEEN PROVIDED TO FAIR MEADOWS PRIOR TO ENTRY. HORSE(S) THAT TEST POSITIVE MUST LEAVE THE GROUNDS AND WILL BE INELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FAIR MEADOWS MEET. ALL PRE-ENTRY HAIR TESTING WILL BE FACILITATED BY OQHRA.
1) Pre-entry hair tests done May 6, 2026, or after will be good before the duration of the Fair Meadows Meet. Results of a negative test must be on file with Fair Meadows before a horse can ENTER a race.
2) As a service for horsemen, OQHRA will facilitate collection and submission of samples for testing of horses that are scheduled for testing at Fair Meadows.
a) A fee of $240 must be paid at the time of sample collection.
b) Trainer must contact the OQHRA to schedule hair collection. Excluded or suspended trainers may not schedule hair tests at that racetrack. Only the trainer of record may schedule a horse for hair testing. At the beginning of a meet, a trainer may designate one authorized staff member to assist with scheduling.
3) In no event will a horse be eligible to enter a race unless the hair testing has been completed, and a negative result has been provided to Fair Meadows in accordance with these conditions.
4) Allow 10 business days for negative results to be reported once the sample has been collected. Tests requiring confirmation testing may take longer than 10 business days to report. It is the trainer’s responsibility to have the horse tested in time for the results to be returned prior to entry.
5) All Futurities and Derbies during the 2026 meet are also subject to hair testing requirements. The conditions of each of those races require an additional negative hair test between the trials and the final.
6) Any horse that tests positive in a pre-race hair test will not be eligible for re-testing during the meet. Such horses will no longer be allowed on the grounds.
7) OQHRA & Fair Meadows assume no responsibility for test accuracy, timing, race payments, or financial consequences related to positive test results.
8) The results of positive hair tests will be made public and posted online at www.oqhra.com.
*Hair tests and the results of such testing as required by this condition are not considered official tests or results by OHRC.
