DASHIN JJ UPSETS HEAVY FAVORITE PAINTED TURNPIKE IN MISTER LEWIE MEMORIAL STAKES

OKLAHOMA CITY – Friday, May 20, 2016 , Dashin JJ, a 15-1 longshot, pulled the upset in Friday’s Grade 1, $32,500 Mister Lewie Memorial Stakes at Remington Park, defeating the heavily favored Painted Turnpike by a half-length.

Owned and trained by Ray Enlow of Sapulpa, Okla., Dashin JJ grabbed the lead at the start of the 400-yard event then dug in to hold off Painted Turnpike, the heavy 1-9 betting favorite. William Thomason guided Dashin JJ who brought his “A-Game” for the Mister Lewie, an event for Paint and Appaloosa horses, three and older.
