Oklahoma City, OK - March 4, 2019 -- In Oklahoma City this weekend, Remington Park kicks off its rich meet on Friday night with trials for the 350-yard Oklahoma Derby. On the opening night card they will also run the $68,000 Mighty Deck Three Handicap at 250 yards for three-year-old and older Accredited Oklahoma-breds.

Racing secretary Tim Williams had the trainers of 28 head nominate horses for the Mighty Deck Three when he closed that process last Wednesday. The list ranks the horses by their earnings accumulated since March 6, 2017 and that puts 2018 Dash For Cash Derby and Remington Park Derby winner EOS Apollitical Win on top with $309,520 during that period. Second is Valiant Rogue $199,975, followed by PV Queen Bee Candy $141,317, Peighnt Your Fate $138,739, AJS High $135,007, Bird Train $132,622, First Of 15 $129,134, Ferrari James $109,424, Bye Bye Freighttrain $99,494 and Eye Eye Captain $92,166.

The top ten nominees include three females and five are four year olds, one is five, three are six and one is seven.

On Saturday evening they will run trials for the Oklahoma Futurity at 300 yards.

The Oklahoma Futurity and Oklahoma Derby, both of which are $100,000-added, are NOT restricted to Accedited Oklahoma-breds.

When Long Wagon Ho won the Oklahoma Futurity last year there was $371,200 in the pot and 105 head ran in 12 trials.

When La Vencedora won the 2018 Oklahoma Derby there was $218,000 in the purse and 47 head in five trials.

Trials for the Oklahoma Paint and Appaloosa Futurity and the Speedhorse/Graham Paint and Appaloosa Derby will be run Sunday.

The finals of both the Oklahoma Futurity and Oklahoma Derby are scheduled for March 23.
