OKLAHOMA CITY - February 7, 2018 - – The first training races of the Remington Park pre-season were conducted today, all at 250 yards. Washita Jack had the best time of the afternoon, winning his event by a half-length while under wraps.

Jockey Mario Delgado had plenty left with Washita Jack as they cruised to the finish line in :13.86 seconds over a fast track. Washita Jack was the only training race winner to post a final time of less than 14-seconds from the six events contested. The six training races were conducted with a tailwind, out of the north at 10mph.

Trained by Luis Villafranco, Washita Jack is a 2-year-old Oklahoma-bred colt by Inseperable from the First Down Dash mare Sweet Sister Bubbles. Washita Jack is owned by Andrew Smith of Ardmore, Okla.

Another six training events will be run at Remington Park tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 8, starting at 11am. The training races are held, offering horsemen the opportunity to gain experience for young horses preparing to make their career debuts once the season begins. 

The 2018 American Quarter Horse, Paint and Appaloosa Season at Remington Park starts with a weekend of activity Friday, March 9 thru Sunday, March 11. The first race on Opening Night, March 9 is at 6pm. The first race on Saturday, March 10 starts at 4pm. Sunday action on March 11 is underway at 1:30pm.

The Remington Park season will continue thru June 2 with a total of 50 race dates scheduled.
