MAJOR FREIGHT Tops 2nd Night of Remington Park Futurity Trials

OKLAHOMA CITY – April 10, 2016 - The field is now set for the lucrative $958,000 Remington Park Futurity on April 23. Major Freight topped the second night of a dozen qualifying trials on Saturday, using a fast start and cutting through a strong headwind to post a 330-yard time of :17.066 seconds over a fast track.

The headwind challenged many in the 12 trials, fluctuating between 18-22 mph throughout the entire program. Owned and bred in Oklahoma by Dr. Edward Leslie of Frankfort, Ky. and trained by Duke Shults, Major Freight was ridden by James Flores. The 2-year-old colt built a big lead and then hit the finish just ahead of Spicey Hero who rallied late, a neck behind the winner. Spicey Hero also qualified for the Remington Park Futurity, restricted to eligible Oklahoma-breds.
