Brother to Heritage Place Futurity Winner Tops Thursday Training Races

OKLAHOMA CITY – BV King George, a 2-year-old full brother to 2015 Heritage Place Futurity winner BV Midnite Express, posted the best training race time in Thursday action at Remington Park..

Owned and bred in Oklahoma by Bella Vista Farms of Arcola, Ill., BV King George is trained by Eddie Lee Willis and was ridden in his 250-yard training race by Russel Hadley. BV King George utilized a clean start then ran straight and true with just one tap from Hadley, crossing the finish in :13.48 seconds over a fast track in the 10th and final event of the day. BV King George received help from a 21mph tailwind out of the north. Winds during the Thursday training races ranged between 18 to 22mph. .

A son of Freighttrain B from the Tres Seis mare Ms Tres Seis, BV King George is slated to compete in trials for the $800,000 (estimated) Remington Park Futurity in April. The Remington is restricted to eligible Oklahoma-breds. .

The Remington Park training races are utilized by horsemen to help prepare young horses who have yet to make their pari-mutuel racing debuts. The total number of training races during the pre-season now stands at 62. .

Entries for the Opening Night of the 2016 season were taken in the Remington Park racing office on Thursday. Entries will be taken for the second night of the season on Friday, as trials are compiled for the historic Oklahoma Futurity, the sport’s oldest futurity..

The Opening Weekend for the Remington Park season begins at 6pm on March 11. Saturday racing on March 12, featuring Oklahoma Futurity trials, will begin at 5pm. Sunday racing on March 13 starts at 1:30pm and features trials for the Oklahoma Derby and the first stakes races of the meeting in the $50,000 Eastex and the $70,000 Mighty Deck Three. .

Open daily for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington Park features the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor.
