Mary Paintyourwagon best of Training Race Winners Wednesday

OKLAHOMA CITY – Remington Park training races continued today as horses prepare for the Opening of the 2016 American Quarter Horse Season. Mary Paintyourwagon owned the top 250-yard time today, handling a fast track in :13.50 seconds.

The 10 training races today were conducted into headwinds ranging in speed from 21-26mph. Mary Paintyourwagon, an Oklahoma-bred owned by LeAnn Burns, handled her business into a 23mph headwind. By PYC Paintyourwagon out of Marys Southernpolicy, Mary Paintyourwagon is nominated to the $800,000 (estimated) Remington Park Futurity trials in April. She is trained by Stacy Hill.

The Remington Park training races are utilized by horsemen to help prepare young horses who have yet to make their pari-mutuel racing debuts. The total number of training races during the pre-season now stands at 52. There will be 10 more training races on Thursday, March 3.

Thursday, March 3 will also mark the first day of entries for the upcoming 2016 season. The Opening Night program on Friday, March 11 will feature trials for the Grade 1, Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity and more trials for the Grade 1, Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Derby.

The Opening Weekend for the Remington Park season begins at 6pm on March 11. Saturday racing on March 12, featuring trials for the historic Oklahoma Futurity, will begin at 5pm. Sunday racing on March 13 starts at 1:30pm and features trials for the Oklahoma Derby and the first stakes races of the meeting in the $50,000 Eastex and the $70,000 Mighty Deck Three.

Open daily for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington Park features the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park, home of the historic $414,000 Oklahoma Futurity. The 75th running of the oldest futurity in Quarter Horse racing takes place on Saturday, March 26, 2016.
