Oklahoma Horsemen and Horses Inducted into Quarter Horse Hall of Fame Legendary Oklahoma horsemen and horses were inducted into the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Hall of Fame on February 8th. The ceremonies were held at the Sheraton Hotel – Reed Conference Center in Midwest City.
Leading Quarter Horse trainer Jack Brooks was honored, along with legendary Quarter Horse rider Roy Brooks. Bill Brewer, Executive Vice President of American Quarter Horse Association and former Oklahoman was also inducted along with A. B. Green of Purcell, Oklahoma former leading breeder and owner of such horses as Go Man Go, Barbara L, and Miss Olene. Miss Jim 45, a 1966 red dun mare with near perfect conformation that earned her 176 grand champion mare titles was inducted, along with all time leading money earner and two time world champion racehorse Refrigerator. Ima Cool Skip, a three time world champion and superior halter horse was also honored as well as the legendary Quarter Horse stallion Jet Deck, former World Champion and producer of Supreme Champion and World Champion offspring in halter, performance, and racing. The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Hall of Fame was created by the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association in 2004 as a means of honoring people and horses that are or were significant in the growth and success of the Quarter Horse Industry.
